Anthi Argyriou (*1983 in Thessaloniki) is an art theorist and art historian. She works as a freelance curator and as a Project Manager for cultural, educational and artistic programs at Antigone NGO (Thessaloniki, Greece) while she is also a Ph.D. Candidate at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), University of Amsterdam.

In 2019-20 she was a lecturer at the BA program of Literary & Cultural Analysis where she taught the courses of ‘Art, Science & Technology’, ‘Bodies in Public’ and ‘Core Concepts in Cultural Analysis’. The working title of her dissertation is ‘Mediterranean Drifts: Mobility and Migration in (Speculative) Fiction-based Contemporary Art’ and focuses on emerging modes of representation of migrant subjects, borderscapes and mobility patterns in recent multimedia artistic projects. She has been awarded a doctoral studies scholarship from NEON Organization for Culture and Development and an Educational Grant from A. G. Leventis Foundation. In 2021 part of her doctoral research was published in the Journal of Greek Media & Culture (7.1). Anthi has participated in round-table discussions and has given lectures and conference talks in ‘Rethinking Modern Greek Studies in the 21st Century: A Cultural Analysis Network’ conference in Oxford, CYNETART International Festival in Dresden, the European Summer School in Cultural Studies in Copenhagen and at several MA classes at the University of Amsterdam.

She holds a BA in History & Archaeology (specialization: Archaeology and Art History) from Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece, and a Research MA in Cultural Analysis from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Anthi has curated exhibitions in institutions and art galleries in Athens and Thessaloniki, such as the State Museum of Contemporary Art, ALMA Athens, Nitra Gallery, ROOMS2016 Contemporary Art Show, Artis Causa gallery, and the Biennale of Contemporary Art of Thessaloniki. As of 2011, she was a member of the team of a leading international art festival based in Thessaloniki, Greece, Action Field Kodra, while in 2014, 2015 and 2018 she was one of the three main curators of the festival.
